PUPPIES

At Colebrook we only breed goldens that have a strong champion line and a solid background of health certifications of at least five generations. We strive to produce puppies with the best health, temperament, and conformation according to the breed standard.

Golden Retrievers have common health problems that we as breeders work very hard to eliminate in the breed. The most common are hips, heart and eyes. We have all of our dogs screened in these areas to avoid passing these potential problems onto our puppies.

Our puppies are whelped in an area where they are monitored at all times. They are loved and cared for from the day that they are born. They are introduced to their 1st human family (us) as soon as they are able to see and hear which is at about two weeks of age. Puppies will be well socialized by the time they are ready for their new homes.

We don't allow visitors before 6 weeks of age because of health regulations. Puppies will receive their first shot and be vet checked at this time. Puppies can go home at 7 weeks and shipped at 8 weeks. To reserve a puppy, we require a $300.00 deposit.

Our puppies vary in price according to their pedigree, sex and whether they are sold to "pet homes" with limited registration or for "show" and "breeding" purposes on a full registration. If needed, we will ship your puppy to you. Although rates vary, you can estimate about $350.00 for shipping costs. This includes: all paperwork, health certificate, special vet exam, crate, delivery to the airport and the flight fee.

Your puppy comes with a 1 year health guarantee. Although we have done all that is possible to prevent health problems, unfortunately, dogs are just like humans and are not perfect. We promise that your puppy is 100% healthy at the time of delivery. We do require a vet visit within 72 hours of receiving your puppy to validate this guarantee. Your puppy will need a booster every 3 to 4 weeks until 16 weeks of age. At that time they will receive their 1 year rabies vaccination. All puppies will be wormed at 2, 4, and 6 weeks and should be free of parasites, but not guaranteed.

If it is discovered that your puppy has a genetic problem that inhibits the quality of their life, we will take the puppy back in exchange for another puppy of the same sex and quality. We do require confirmation from your vet. Our vet will also have to confirm the diagnosis.
